All is Not Quiet Along the DMZ
Craig Wood organized a professional learning workshop for high school and middle school social studies teachers in Starkville, Mississippi. The workshop reached 7 teachers.
Rich Conversations About Korea
Craig Wood’s workshop helped teachers gain a better understanding of the conflict between North and South Korea. Participants were surprised to learn how sanctions, including the inability to access fertilizer, negatively impact the North Korean people. Exploring issues on the Korean peninsula led to rich discussions related to the conditions in North Korea as well as the differences between North and South Korea.
The teachers left the workshop excited about what they learned as well as the educational resources available through the Korean War Legacy Foundation and the World History Digital Education Foundation.
