Free Lesson Plans for Teachers

Check out our lesson plans page for an extensive collection of free curriculum resources for educators teaching about Korea and the Korean War. You can filter by age (elementary, middle, secondary). topic, and skill. From “5 Themes of Geography – South Korea” aimed at high schoolers to “A Child’s Perspective of the Korean War” for middle schoolers to “Schools Around the World Focused Inquiry K-2” for K-2 students, our collection of free lesson plans provides a wide variety of useful materials.

In addition, we also provide the following:

  • Korea’s Place in Teaching Human Geography, a collection of modules for teachers of AP Human Geography, created in partnership with the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS).
  • Korea’s Place in Teaching World History, which addresses the role of government in Korea’s rapid economic development and digital information technologies in Korean society.
  • Our COVID-19 Module, produced in partnership with the NCSS, which offers a set of free resources for Social Studies teachers to address the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • A set of free resources on the Korean War for teachers of Advanced Placement World History, with curriculum guides on comparison, contextualization, and causation and continuity/change (CCOT).
  • Video recordings and other useful content from our 2020 COVID-19 webinar series, with insights from a series of experts offering context on the pandemic.
  • Exploring and Teaching the Korean War, a joint publication with the UK’s Historical Association, which presents ready-to-teach enquiries for KS3, GCSE and A-level classes.

We regularly offer professional-development opportunities for teachers: conferences, grants, travel, and other programs. We are grateful to our sponsor, the Korea Foundation, for making this work possible.
